HR 1207 Federal Reserve Transparency Act: Momentum Builds For Ron Paul's "Fed Transparency" Act

Lone gunman revolutionary Ron Paul has been talking about crazy things for a very long time. If there is a New World Order conspiracy waiting to take over the planet, I guarantee you they worked their asses off trying to fight this guy and his crazy ideas, such as abolishing the Federal Reserve and bringing the United States back to what was described in the U.S. Constitution...

But after years of talking this craziness nonstop -- and joining the mainstream spotlight recently when he ran for President -- a funny thing has happened:

Ron Paul's crazy ideas don't seem so crazy anymore.

This was evidenced earlier this week when some fools up in Washington served the Federal Reserve (the Fed) with a wicked subpoena, asking that the Federal Reserve turn over documents related to Bank of America’s acquisition of Merrill Lynch, one of the more recent economic travesties harped on by the news media, aka "the big banking bailout of 2009." Now it's not just paranoid conspiracy nuts screaming to "end the Fed!" Now average Joe "Baloney Sandwich" America is up in there right beside the nutjobs, adding his strong, baloney-breath battle cry: "Audit the Fed, man!"

Ron Paul is the sponsor of the Federal Reserve Transparency act of 2009, which demands a GAO audit of the Fed, and a full report to Congress sometime next year. And it's gaining steam. It already has 175 co-sponsors in the House, and now a major Democrat, Rep. Alan Grayson (ironically, the same one who's proposing that stupid France vacation bill we mentioned this morning has joined on, and is urging his party colleagues to join them.

Zero Hedge has a copy of the letter he's sent out, and you can sign the petition here.
